As arts and crafts venues are popping up all around surrounding small towns and rural areas, some folks in Zumbrota are putting out a Call to Action for the newest adventure in art appreciation! The event will take place this June 18th, 19th and 20th, coinciding with Father's Day. It is named the Zumbrota Creative Crawl, but the committee welcomes crafters and artists in the surrounding communities to join in the fun! You can go to their Facebook page for information on who to contact for more information, to apply for a spot, or to ask any other questions.
There are many of these events going on locally, and they are receiving a lot of attention. Think 100 Mile Rummage Sale that happens every fall, or the St. Peter Art Crawl in the spring. There are stationary Craft Fairs in places like Kenyon's 100 Ladies and Gentlemen's Holiday Show that is open a few weekends before the holidays begin for Christmas, and many smaller venues in the Dennison Nerstrand area, as well as Cannon Falls.... You get the idea! So now we will have our own local show, starting this year! There will be vendor locations set up for multiple vendors, too, like the parking lot at Native Grind behind the Zumbrota Dairy Queen, and places set up on Main Street in Zumbrota.
This is going to be a fun way to let people know what you are currently working on, and advertise your craft. This is a Call to Action for those of you who wish to participate. Please go to the Facebook page and fill out the form on Google doc to apply, The committee will be printing a map in some of the local papers, like Goodhue, Wanamingo, Kenyon and more, so if you choose to join in the fun, and want your location on the map, please apply by May 15th to be sure your location is included! You can still participate if you get this too late, but to be included on the map, we need your info now.
And be sure to be watching the Messenger for another article telling more details about the crafters, vendors and artists who will be participating in this first year of the event as we get closer to the event itself! So..... go to the Facebook page now, and get involved!
