Description of incident:
On the afternoon of Nov. 3, 2025, Rice County Sheriff’s deputies, along with multiple local fire departments, responded to a report of a barn fire at 10911 Kenyon Boulevard in Richland Township, Rice County.
Deputies were dispatched at approximately 2:03 p.m. after the property owner reported visible flames coming from a barn on the property. Upon arrival, first responders found the structure fully engulfed. Firefighters from the Kenyon, Faribault and Nerstrand Fire departments and Northfield Area Fire & Rescue Service worked to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.
No injuries to residents, firefighters or bystanders were reported, but it’s believed two livestock animals lost. The barn, one other out building and its contents are believed to be a total loss.
At this stage there is no indication of foul play.
