Cattlemen's Saloon in Dennison opened earlier in October to much local anticipation. "The road to get here has had a few bumps in it", commented Marie Kyllo, who owns the bar with her husband Sean. Many know we opened the bar originally as 625 Bar & Grill in 2023. After 2 years we made the hard decision to close earlier this summer due to a variety of challenges in the business. "We took the summer to look at our options and decided to reimagine what the space could be. With that, came CATTLEMEN'S SALOON," Sean added, focusing on the bar, atmosphere and service. We gave the space a new look, theme and decor." The kitchen is not fully open at this time, but Cattlemen's offers pizzas and snacks, along with complimentary fresh popcorn. "We plan to offer some -Pop Up- kitchen nights as we move ahead into the fall and winter, including our broasted chicken dinners and a few other options on different nights but we're taking a more intentional approach to see what our customers want too. We hope to add more kitchen hours in the future, but staffing will dictate that. You have to have consistency or people aren't coming back. That was sometimes one of our issues in the past with staffing. We have a good restaurant option in Dennison, so people can eat there and stop here before or after for a drink and a little different atmosphere," the Kyllo's said.
Sean continued, "The bar business has changed a lot in the past few years. People's social habits are different, and how they spend their money when they go out is a lot different than it was 5-10 years ago. We're just trying to adapt. We are excited to be back serving many of our old customers and meeting some new ones. We still have a few projects in the building with our refresh, which we will work on Wednesdays when we are closed." Sean and Marie will both continue with their day jobs, and work the bar with the help of additional staff. With Sean on the road more with his job, Marie is taking more of a lead on the day to day operations. Pool league returned to the bar last week, which is every Thursday evening, along with the Sunday Meat Raffle at 3:30, and Bingo Tuesday nights at 6 PM. "We're glad to be back in the saddle, so to speak", Marie said. "It an exciting time with the refresh, and we are looking forward to seeing old and new friends.
Cattlemen's will be having live music several times each month, including Andy Tackett on October 24th. More fun things are in the works according to the Kyllos.

Current Bar Hours are Thursday - Tuesday 3 PM - Close. Closed Wednesdays.
