Colleen Virginia Hegseth, 93, of Wanamingo, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Pine Haven Community in Pine Island. She was born in Roscoe Township on December 3, 1930, to Melvin and Rachel (Hoseth) Myran. She attended country school in Roscoe Township and graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1948. Colleen was united in marriage to Raymond Hegseth on September 20, 1952, at Lands Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. She worked as a secretary for the school in Wanamingo prior to her and Ray moving to Texas while he was in the Air Force. They lived in Texas for a few years, before moving back to Minnesota and making their home in Wanamingo. Colleen was a dedicated mother and homemaker in caring for her family. She was skilled at canning and was an excellent baker. She baked many things, but notable were her fresh bread and her chocolate chip cookies. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and playing the piano. She was a longtime member of Wanamingo Lutheran Church. In her later years, Colleen lost her eyesight, and amazed everyone with what she was able to accomplish with her lack of sight, even continuing her hobbies of baking and knitting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karen Fredrickson; and siblings, Beverly Bakken, Lynda Underdahl, and Richard Myran.
