May is National Bike Month—a time to celebrate bicycling, promote safety, and enjoy its health and environmental benefits. Participating in Bike Month events is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, boost physical activity, and connect with your community, parks, trails and fellow riders to support overall well-being.
In Rice County, data shows strong connections between physical activity and improved mental health. According to the 2023 Rice County Community Health Survey adults who reported one day or more of moderate exercise reported a greater sense of well-being. A quick test to see if it’s “moderate exercise” is if you can talk, but cannot sing.
You can support your physical and mental well-being by staying active, and National Bike Month offers the perfect opportunity! Get involved through the events below:
· National Ride a Bike Day – May 3
