Goodhue County 4-H Project Bowl Teams Place at State Contest

Goodhue County had 7 teams advance to the State 4-H Project Bowl Contest held April 11th in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. Three dairy teams and four general livestock teams competed in this knowledge contest against teams from across the state.

The Junior Dairy team placed second in their division. Also competing were the Senior (5th Place) and Intermediate (6th place) teams. The Dairy teams are coached by Rebekah Mathews (Mazeppa) and Kjersten Veiseth (Zumbrota). Dairy team participants included: Beatrix Sauter (Cannon Falls), Gabby Sauter (Cannon Falls), Roy Sauter (Cannon Falls), Peter Ickler (Wanamingo), Gracie Pearson (Red Wing), Garrett Pearson (Red Wing), Beau Callahan (Wanamingo), Mason Quam (Kenyon), Cora Foss (Kenyon), Troy Clemenson (Zumbrota), Clara Benrud (Goodhue) and Hanna Gudknecht (Wanamingo).

The General livestock Junior teams placed 1st and 6th, the Intermediate team placed 4th and the Senior team placed 1st in their respective divisions. The Senior team qualified to attend a national contest, however they are ineligible to compete as the team has already competed at each of the two national contest options. The General Livestock teams are coached by Lee Kloeckner (Red Wing) and Nicole Neeser (Red Wing). General Livestock team participants included: Amelia Kispert (Kenyon), Isaiah Kispert (Kenyon), Avery Stark (Cannon Falls), Charlie Stark (Cannon Falls), Haley Betcher (Mazeppa), Lacey Betcher (Mazeppa), Brooke Betcher (Mazeppa), Jocelyn Wichser (Cannon Falls), Macy Dicke (Goodhue), Paige Lubahn (Goodhue), Allison Lubahn (Goodhue), Marissa Mandelkow (Cannon Falls), Jaysa O’Connor (Goodhue), Sawyer Gesme (Welch), Riggin Hovel (Cannon Falls), Samuel Gesme (Welch), Ty Lindahl (Cannon Falls) and Oliver Lee (Cannon Falls).
