Kenyon Farmers Market

Posted

As spring evolves into summer, we start looking forward to the fun of Farmers Markets in our area. This year will be the 4th year that Kenyon's Park and Recreation Department will host a Farmer's Market and Craft Fair, and I am looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces, and hoping to see some new ones as well.

Located in the parking lot of First Evangelical Lutheran Church at 309 Forest Street in Kenyon, this has been a growing adventure, and people are coming out with woodworking, paintings, candies and cupcakes, as well as artisan breads, coffees from around the world and local honey products. There will be fresh produce later in the season, beautiful flower bouquets, and jewelry, and many items that are handmade and unique.

This is a call for vendors! To find out more about the rules, contact the Kenyon Park & Rec and let them know you are interested in joining the fun! It will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, starting in June. Bring your own tables and chairs, and whatever you need to show off your wares! There is no charge to attend, and no rules as to when you can come and go. Can you only be there once a month? No Problem! Can you only attend from 4 pm to 6 pm? No Problem! Do your chickens only lay enough eggs to be there part time? NO Problem! This is an opportunity to have some fun and make some extra cash. All they ask is that the items you sell are homemade, homegrown or hand crafted, with no direct sales booths.

There will be food trucks when possible, so come out for some shopping and dinner.

The Park & Rec would like to thank the church for allowing this to happen in their parking lot, our previous vendors for showing up, and thanks to the locals who are loyal to the efforts of our vendors! Hope to see you soon!!
