While longer term studies and research Is needed the following updates have or will be completed soon:
• Larger sized stop signs to be installed on CR 9 for enhanced visibility. Also installing “Cross Traffic Does Not Stop” signs to provide additional notice to CR 9 drivers.
• STOP AHEAD and stop bars will be repainted on eastbound and westbound CR 9 to provide enhanced pavement marking guidance to drivers.
• Transverse rumble strips have been installed on eastbound and westbound CR 9 to alert approaching drivers of the intersection.
• Vegetation was cleared in the southwest and southeast corners near Hwy 56 and CR 9 to further lengthen sightlines.
We continue to work with MNDOT and Goodhue County to improve safety at this intersection.
