Steven Francis Dyrdahl of Kenyon, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 68. Steve, the son of Robert and LaVonne (Magee) Dyrdahl was born March 6, 1957, in Faribault, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Hauge Lutheran Church in Kenyon. He grew up in Moland and attended Kenyon Public Schools where he was active in football, wrestling, FFA and 4H. He graduated with the class of 1975 and was a two-time conference wrestling champion at weight class 145.
From a young age, Steve enjoyed tractors and after high school attended Wilmar Vocational School where he trained to be a diesel mechanic. He worked at Matejcek Implement Company in Faribault for 46 years and lived on the Dyrdahl family farm in Moland for 38 years. He had a Harley Davidson and enjoyed several trips to Sturgis, SD. He was also grill-master and often gifted steaks for birthdays.
Steve married Chris (Hansen) of Faribault, MN and together they raised his stepson Cole Hansen and had two sons, Sean and Cody. She passed away in 2006 after complications from a car accident. He later married Doreen (Evers) of Andover, MN.
Steve met his companion Stephanie Hardcastle of Landcaster, CA and they resided on the farm. He retired from Matejceks in 2024 and continued to give advice to owners of older tractors.
Steve is survived by companion, Stephanie Hardcastle, his children Sean Dyrdahl and Cody Dyrdahl both of Rochester and stepson Cole Hansen also of Rochester; mother LaVonne Dyrdahl of Kenyon; siblings Rick Dyrdahl, Scott Dyrdahl and Ross Dyrdahl, all of Kenyon, Jaye Dyrdahl (Jenni) of Faribault and Heidi Carrozzella (Anthony) of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Makenna and Carsen Dyrdahl of Rochester; aunts and uncles Mark and Carol Hegseth and Bobby and Linda Magee of Kenyon; and numerous cousins, nephews and niece.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Dyrdahl, his sister Keri Dyrdahl Smith, grandparents Frank and Myrtle Magee and Martin and Olianna Dyrdahl.
