Wanamingo is getting a Laundromat in the space beside J. B.’s Tavern. The equipment was being installed on Friday August 14th and it should be open to the public by September 1st.
There are four large size washing machines and four large-size dryers. There is also a big washer and dryer unit which can handle up to 40 pounds of clothes in one load. It will easily handle large blankets and comforters.
The units will take only quarters. There will be an ATM on site to get cash so you can get change. The ATM machine will accept $1, $5, $10 or $20 bills. Normal loads will cost $2.00 for each service to wash or dry.
There will also be a full-service laundry available. You may drop off your laundry. Weigh it and place in a bag in the tub in the room in back. You will be given a tag with your name, address and telephone number. You will be called when your laundry is done and arrange a time to pick up your clean laundry. Usually a couple days.
Also, while your laundry is running, you can go next door to JB's and enjoy a meal or even get it to go. You may want to relax and have a cocktail of your choice and visit with friends while you're waiting for your laundry to get done.
