WANAMINGO - On November 19, the Wanamingo Demolition Landfill will no longer accept demolition debris, appliances, recyclable products or any other disposal materials. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has proposed a rule revision which would increase operational costs and liability for the landfill. After discussions with the MPCA, Goodhue County has determined the best path forward, at this time, is to permanently close the Wanamingo Demolition Landfill. The county is evaluating other options for the future to accommodate the disposal of demolition materials.
